CLEO SOL – HIGH

August 9, 2011

Cleo Sol’s debut ‘High’, a mash of pop, ska reggae and R‘n’B, is all about having a crush; ’’that feeling that’s unique to everyone but completely unmistakable.” Tapping into Carnival time, High’brings together the old and the new: Cleo’s distinctive stamp of new-age cool is mixed with an original piece of music from the reggae heyday of the 1960’s, through a unique collaboration with iconic Jamaican label Studio One.

Debut single from Cleo Sol ‘High’ out Sept 18th 2011.

Is Shaving Your Hair, The New Weave

July 18, 2009

Musicology: Cast your mind back 5 -10 years ago(showing my age), when ever school girl wanted to hair those sporting finger waves on the side of there face which Missy Elliot, Eve and Lil Kim, were sporting back then. A few years later artist like Keyshia Cole and Fantasia Barrino showed us techniques from the past sometimes which i felt was wrong.

Then you get on to the long weaves which after a long time, dominated our magazines, TV and the internet you all the artist who sport them, nothing to be ashamed about. (check out the video for too many weave in here which i posted a few posts back)

(Brandy,Beyonce,Ciara,Tyra banks and more)

Recently more and more women musicians and models are sporting new short or shaved hair do’s, is this the new generation of styles which will dominate the industry or is it everyone trying to be different.
